A fun family outing!

Today we woke up at: 7:30 to make it to this festival. We took a train there, which was only a few stops away from our place. We woke up this early to line up to go on the U.S. Navy battleships. The kids had heaps of fun. They also rode on ponies, bounce around in a big Thomas balloon, put on the firemen costumes. I'd say it was worth waking up that early.

You can see in the photo below that Joe's uniform was a bit big on him. His head is hiding beneath the helmet. Was so funny I had to post this one.

Joe was the only brave one to take photos with the dolls.

This is a photo of one of the big guns that they use on the battleship. Awesome huh.
Can you see the black submarine behind them.
The boys were so tired; they were fast asleep by 8:00.

Abandoned soilders Barracks

These are the Barracks that the soldiers stayed in during WW2. There's nothing inside just rooms.

Here's the entrance to a underground tunnel/pathway which was pretty scary, they had bats and creepy crawly thingys on the wall. It went down for about 100 meters. In the end there were staircases going up and two rooms on the side, also filled with bats. Well, never do that again. My Dad and Abe were having so much fun.

We went to see the place where the fisher men catch all the fish, lobsters, and clams. So many fish, and stinky too!

Our trip to Nagasaki!

My parents came for a visit and we all went to Nagasaki for a week to visit my mom's family. Kids had a lot of fun and we enjoyed ourselves as well.

On the other side of this bridge there is a ship port where they build all the ships. We wanted to go and take a look but only employee's allowed.

Stopped on this long bridge to see the whirlpools below.

Happy 2nd Birthday Jo!

Thanks Oji-chan and Oba-chan for the bus. I built the bus with Daddy, there was so many pieces. Daddy had a hard time but and we lost the piece to the wheel but we found behind the curtain.

Jo was so eager to pick off all the dinosaurs. Here's a pic before they came off.

The blue is the water. And the big 'ant hill' is supposed to be the volcano. I tried to make red colored whip cream but turned out dark pink. Oh well...that's the best I could do.

Here's Jo's birthday cake before I decorate it. It's a pineapple and blueberry cake. Turned out purrrrty good. Jo wanted a Dinosaur cake. So I checked the internet for some ideas and I found this one. I was pretty satisfied with the turnout.
